For some families, that moment lasts just a few seconds until the connection is remade, and for other families it can last a lifetime. As faces of the missing are shared and reshared on social media and stories of long-term cases are highlighted on podcasts such as “Already Gone” and “The Vanished,” the general public continues to show interest in cases of missing people.
